If you are the first in your family to attend a four-year school with plans to eventually attend law school, know that there are people, resources and programs to support you:
- Schedule an appointment in the UM University Career Center to discuss your plans.
- Get inspired by the experience of other first generation students who have successfully pursued legal careers. - LSAC launched a Blog Series on First Generation to Attend College featuring individuals in various stages of their law school and legal career journeys who were the frst people in their immediate families to go to college.
- There are many more programs and initiatives out there for undergraduate students who are the first in their immediate families to attend an institution of higher education, and who are passionate about pursuing careers in law and/or social justice, like for example, First Generation Social Justice Leaders.
